Yes and no. I tried one time and was capped to 200 exp. But then in a different game I went over 200 exp. When I was evil and killed butch and his mom and everyone else, I got lots of XP and when exiting the vault I leveled up twice, to level 3. Not sure what triggered it.

Wait or sleep for 3 days (72 Hours) for the merchants caps to reset, or go to another merchant. Once you have 35k caps you can now go to the next level and actually have infinite caps. Go to The Tops and speak with The Tops Cashier , trade your caps for chips and scroll to the bottom and do 1000 chips at a time.
Here’s a great idea, Cheat! There are some great console commands that you can use to get yourself out of the murky waters and make some headway. The coolest thing about these commands is that they will work on Fallout 3 as well. Both Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3 are built on the Gamebryo engine so they share the console commands as well.

I suggest you download the loose files and add to the folder Data, from Baldur`s Gate 3 folder. There is .pak file too, but i don`t know if it is working correctly. This mod makes requeriments for lvl up, up to lvl 2, more easy to achieve. It works great with Extra Ability Score Improvement and Xp Unlocker.I dont know if it is balanced with Xp
